Jacqueline and Jonas met in June of 2017.

It all started when Jacqueline invited a few friends from highschool to spend the day at her parents’ house on the lake. Without thinking, one of her friends (Ian, who had driven everyone to the lake) jumped off the dock into the water with his keys still in his pocket. A short time later he realized what he had done and that his keys were gone for good!! Ian was in need of a ride and decided to call his good buddy Jonas to come rescue him. Before Jonas arrived, Ian warned Jacqueline, “You’re going to like this guy, Jackie! I know you will!” Jacqueline, determined to prove Ian wrong, declared that she would not… little did she know what her future would hold!

Jonas arrived and came walking down the hill towards the lake confidently wearing his faded orange Margaritaville t-shirt, sweatpants that he had cut into shorts, and his mom’s brown Crocs (an outfit that wasn’t much different than what he wore on their first date). It was love at first sight. Jonas proceeded to introduce himself by shaking Jacqueline’s brace which held her recently fractured hand, and that is the moment when his cheeky personality and big smile melted her heart.

As the day progressed, they found that they had a lot in common. The sparks began to fly and neither of them were ready for that day to end. Over the next couple of days, Jacqueline and Jonas played the waiting game, each hoping the other would make the first move. Eventually, Jacqueline received a text from Ian saying “Jonas wants to know when we can come back over to hang out” and just like that her calendar was wide open. She invited them over the following weekend where their connection picked up right where it had left off.

Eventually, their friends were aware of the obvious connection building between the two of them. One night while the group was sitting around the fire, everyone abruptly got up and left Jacqueline and Jonas sitting alone. After seemingly endless anticipation, just as everyone was packing up to leave, the guessing game came to an end with a truly magical kiss, and the rest is history.

As time goes by, our connection grows stronger and our love deeper. After seven years, we are beyond excited to create a life as a married couple and begin our journey together. Thank you so much for sharing in our joy, and being part of the start of our lives together. <3
